The Chianti youth hostel is in Tavernelle Val di Pesa - about 23 km south of Florence in the heart of the Chianti region, where the most famous of Italian wine is made.
The SITA buses run very frequently on weekdays ( less frequently on saturdays and Sundays ) from the SITA terminal beside the central train station in Florence reaching the Hostel in Tavarnelle in less than an hour.
We offer you the opportunity of a holiday in one of the most beautiful and famous regions of Italy in a hostel where you can feel at home.
A heaven of tranquillity where you can discover flavours and colours of Tuscany in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.

Here you will find beautyful scenery, excellent Wines and cuisine, but also delightful
medieval villages and world famous art cities such as Florence which can be reached in 30 minutes by car and siena in 35 minutes. Six kilometres from the hostel there is a sports center with swimming pool and tennis courts; right beside the hostel there is a park with a rink for roller-skating and a children's playground. As well, in the neighbourhood there are beautiful treks to do and it is also possible to rent bycicles and horses.
Please note, if you are not a Member of Hostelling International there is an extra charge of 2 per person per night. Once you have stayed 6 nights at a HI Hostel you become a HI member, and no extra charges apply for future stays.

By car:

From Florence take the superstrada in direction of Siena; take the Tavarnelle exit and once in town follow the Ostello indications.

From Siena take the superstrada in the direction of Florence and take the second Poggibonsi exit; from there follow the indications for Barberino and then Tavarnelle. The hostel is at the entrance of the town on your left.

By bus:
from Florence S. M. N. train station, leaving the trains behind you take the steps down to your right and the SITA bus station is just 3 minutes away around the corner. The last bus leaves florence at 7. 50 p. m. and reaches Tavarnelle Val di Pesa at 8. 37 p. m.
Do not get off the bus until you see the towns houses as the first Tavarnelle sign is 5 km out of the town itself. In Tavarnelle get off at stop N 013 and walk back 200 metres to the entrance of the Hostel.

From Siena take the SITA bus from the terminal in via Tozzi, wich is just 5 minutes walk from the famous Piazza del Campo.
In Tavarnelle all SITA bus stops are less than 300 metres from the Chianti youth Hostel.
By train:

The nearest train station is in Poggibonsi which is 11 km from Tavarnelle Val di Pesa,; from Poggibonsi it is possible to reach Chianti youth hostel by SITA bus.
Poggibonsi can be reached from Pisa in one hour and twenty minutes by train.
